Lilly-del-Caribe-Urea-Waste-Tanks

Florida Aquastore constructed the Lilly del Caribe combined potable and firewater storage tank, dome and foundation during Lilly’s expansion of a New Bulk Humalog facility expansion project.  The glass-fused-to-steel tank system is designed for seismic zone 4 and 150 MPH wind conditions.

  • Engineer:  Caribbean Architects and Engineers
  • General Contractor:  Fluor Daniel Caribbean
  • Dimensions:  67’ dia. x 47’ tall
  • Volume:  1.2 MG
  • Year Built:  2003
  • Location:  Carolina, Puerto Rico

Prior to this project, the customer maintained several welded steel tanks at the pharmaceutical plant.  Every two years Lilly would repaint the welded steel tanks at a considerable expense.  The Aquastore glass-fused-to-steel tank system will never require re-coating and has saved the owner hundreds of thousands of dollars in maintenance costs since its installation.  The customer was pleased with the tank’s performance, quick installation, and minimal maintenance and has recently installed two additional Aquastore storage tanks for Urea Waste.
