MCS Board
Metropolitan Counseling Services benefits in countless ways from the leadership and services of its Board of Directors. Comprised of a group of professionals who work both inside and outside the mental health professions, this group helps strategically shape, steer and support MCS to promote its mission and achieve successful outcomes.
Nicole M. Adams
Nicole M. Adams is a sales professional providing solutions to the broadcast industry. She has volunteered in numerous capacities, including serving on the boards of non-profits throughout the Atlanta civic and religious community.
Mary Jo Alton
Mary Jo Alton is the Vice President of Marketing at Payment Recovery Services, a recovery audit firm based in Dallas, TX. Prior to this position, Mary Jo worked in the retail industry at Macy’s and Neiman Marcus. Mary Jo received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Social Sciences from Southern Methodist University. Mary Jo has lived in Atlanta since 2003.
Linda S. Bair
Linda S. Bair is an independent businessperson and media artist who develops strategic motion media for foundations and non-profits. After graduating from Vassar College with a degree in music, Linda and her husband, Ed, opened the original Bair Tracks recording studio in lower Manhattan, recording acts such as the B-52’s, REM, The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, and the Art Ensemble of Chicago. In 1993 they relocated Bair Tracks to Atlanta, quickly becoming a major player in the post-production market throughout the southeast. Throughout her career, Linda has produced and directed numerous capital campaign and educational videos, and has overseen high-profile community service ad campaigns, including spots for Hands-On Atlanta, The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America, and Brand Atlanta.
Shirley M. Banks
Shirley M. Banks has been a health educator and sexual health advocate since 1988. She has been at Emory University Student Health Services for ten years. At Emory, she is responsible for health education and promotion on sexual health issues. She counsels students requesting HIV antibody testing, gives presentations to student groups, counsels students with sexual health concerns, and serves on several committees. Ms. Banks works with Emory Regional Training Center and Agnes Scott College Wellness Center as a health education training consultant. She also volunteers with DeKalb Rape Crisis Center and the American Hiking Society. She holds a B.S. from Kennesaw State University.
Anne Bowen-Long
Anne Bowen-Long is VP of Strategic Accounts for United Parcel Service. At UPS, she is responsible for a team charged with the retention and growth of over 654 million dollars in revenue from Fortune 500 companies. She has 23 years of experience and responsibility in the areas of sales, marketing, and management. Anne received a Master of Business Administration degree from Drexel University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from West Chester University.
Stayce M. Burkhart
Stayce M. Burkhart is an attorney with Moore Ingram Johnson & Steele in Marietta, Georgia. Her practice focuses primarily on Estate Tax Planning, and she is licensed to practice law in Georgia and Florida. Stayce received her JD in 2006 from Vanderbilt University Law School in Nashville, Tennessee.
Mickey Desai
Mickey Desai has worked in the nonprofit sector since 2001. Mickey helped resurrect the Atlanta Nonprofit Professionals group, and organized the Stetson University Alumni Association across the state. He currently chairs the MCS Board of Directors, is a member of the Georgia Lakes Society Board of Directors, and the United Way’s Volunteer Involvement Program (V.I.P.) Alumni Association, the premier board development program in Atlanta. In 1995 he received his Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Stetson University. Mickey has had a varied and diverse career path, choosing nonprofit causes specifically for strength of passion and demonstrated return on investment. His personal interests revolve around causes that develop personal strength, integrity, and critical thinking skills.
Ann W. Ferebee
Ann W. Ferebee is an attorney at Powell Goldstein, LLP, in Atlanta, Georgia. Her practice focuses primarily on corporate, securities, and fiduciary litigation, and assisting clients in agency enforcement proceedings and internal corporate investigations. She received her J.D. with honors from Emory University in 2007, and is licensed to practice law in Georgia. Prior to attending law school, Ann received her Master’s degree in Psychology from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts in 2002.
Sandra Hale, MA, LPC
Sandra Hale, MA, LPC is a therapist in private practice with Metropolitan Psychotherapy Associates. She received a Masters degree in Psychology from the State University of West Georgia. She has provided adult mental health and substance abuse counseling in a partial hospitalization and a residential substance abuse program working with addiction recovery, adult survivors of childhood trauma and abuse, and mind-body-spirit issues. She is certified in Hypnotherapy and the Ethenkos Resilience Energetic Healing Process. In over 20 years of corporate experience culminating in upper management, she has conducted training programs and national seminars in self-empowerment, leadership, and conflict resolution.
David Hosking
Brian Kammer
Brian Kammer is a senior staff attorney with the Georgia Resource Center of Atlanta, a non-profit law office providing free representation to indigent death-sentenced prisoners in Georgia. Brian has been living in Atlanta and working at the Resource Center for almost twelve years, since graduating from Northeastern University School of Law in 1996. A native of West Virginia, Brian received his bachelor’s degree in Japan Studies from Earlham College and worked briefly in Japan in the early 1990s as a translator and interpreter, before entering law school. He is an avid runner in his spare time.
An-Chi Sun
An-Chi Sun is a Finance professional currently working for the Global Logistics Business Unit of UPS Supply Chain Solutions. During her nine years with UPS, she worked in various areas of Marketing, Business Information Analysis, and Finance. Prior to joining UPS in May 2000, she also worked for Amoco Petroleum and Continental Airlines in various Accounting, Finance, and Business Development positions. An-Chi received her M.B.A and M.S. Accountancy from University of Houston – University Park. She is also a Texas licensed CPA.
Alyson Wooten
Paul J. Zick, LCSW, MBA
Paul J. Zick, LCSW, MBA is the Executive Director of the United Behavioral Health National Railroad Unit. Paul is responsible for strategic oversight and implementation of medical-behavioral integrated case management of individuals with co-occurring medical and behavioral conditions. Paul also has extensive experience developing and managing services for underserved and publicly funded populations. Paul received Bachelor of Psychology and Master of Social Work degrees from the University of Michigan and a Master of Business Administration degree from Baker College.
